Answer. After clearing Stage I (CBT-1) which is a screening test, Stage II (CBT-2) is the main examination for the post applied (MTS / Executive / Junior Manager). It carries full merit weight for final shortlisting.

Q. What are the important subject areas to prepare for CBT-2?
Answer.

• Part-1 (for Executive/Jr Manager): General Knowledge, General Aptitude/Reasoning.
• Part-2 (for Executive/Jr Manager): Domain specific topics depending on post (Civil, Electrical, Telecom, Finance etc). Example: for Executive (Civil) topics include Structural Analysis, Solid Mechanics, Concrete & Steel Structures, Soil Mechanics etc.
• For MTS, the broad topics include numerical ability, reasoning, science, awareness, plus railways/DFCCIL knowledge.

Q. What are the qualifying/normalisation and minimum marks for Stage II?
Answer. While exact cut-offs get published post exam, the scheme includes:

Marks will be normalised (especially for multi-shift papers) for final merit.

Minimum qualifying marks for Category wise: e.g., UR/EWS ~40 %, SC/OBC-NCL ~30 %, ST ~25 % (at least for CBT-1) but for CBT-2 the merit matters more.
